Mango Tumeric Smoothie

A refreshing summery smoothie to start the day or to have in between meals. The addition of the black pepper may sound a bit odd, but trust me, it’s worth adding as research has shown that it may help to improve the effects of tumeric, which is well known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Prep: 15 Minutes
  • Portions: 2 Cups

Ingredients:

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups plain kefir
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened soy milk (or use cow's milk)
  • 1 tbsp cashew butter
  • 1 tsp ground tumeric + extra for sprinkling
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

Method:

  1. Allow the banana to defrost on the bench for 10 minutes before peeling
  2. Add the banana and remaining ingredients into a blender and blitz until well combined
  3. Pour into two glasses and top with an extra sprinkle of tumeric if you would like
