A refreshing summery smoothie to start the day or to have in between meals. The addition of the black pepper may sound a bit odd, but trust me, it’s worth adding as research has shown that it may help to improve the effects of tumeric, which is well known for it’s anti-inflammatory properties.
- Prep: 15 Minutes
- Portions: 2 Cups
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1 1/2 cups plain kefir
- 1/2 cup unsweetened soy milk (or use cow's milk)
- 1 tbsp cashew butter
- 1 tsp ground tumeric + extra for sprinkling
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Method:
- Allow the banana to defrost on the bench for 10 minutes before peeling
- Add the banana and remaining ingredients into a blender and blitz until well combined
- Pour into two glasses and top with an extra sprinkle of tumeric if you would like
